2. How long does the aging test usually take?
This is a very practical question, but the answer isn’t fixed. The duration of aging tests depends on a variety of factors:
Product Type: Different product standards vary completely.
• Consumer electronics (such as smartphones, routers): Typically range from 24 to 72 hours. This is the most common timeframe.
• Industrial-grade/automotive-grade products: These have extremely stringent requirements and may need continuous testing for 7 days—or even several months.
• Materials (such as plastics and coatings): May undergo UV light and damp-heat aging tests lasting from hundreds to over a thousand hours in an aging chamber.
• Testing standards and objectives: Industry standards, as well as national or international standards (such as ISO, IEC), typically specify the testing duration for particular products. However, if the purpose is research and development or preliminary assessment, the timeline may be more flexible.
• Acceleration Factor: Aging tests are typically "accelerated experiments" that shorten test durations by increasing environmental stresses—such as raising temperature, humidity, or voltage. The higher the stress level, the shorter the time required usually is.
In summary, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer for delivery time, but for consumer goods, 1 to 3 days is the most common reference range. The exact duration, however, should be determined based on the specific standards and requirements of each product.
