Pre-treatment Acid-Base Neutralization Waste Gas PP Scrubber Tower

The PP scrubber tower (Polypropylene Exhaust Gas Purification Tower) is an exhaust gas treatment device primarily made of PP (polypropylene) material. It is mainly used in industries such as chemical processing, electroplating, and electronics to treat acidic or alkaline exhaust gases, effectively removing pollutants through acid-base neutralization reactions.
  • Product Description
  • | Core Structure
Materials: The tower body, packing, spray system, and other components are all made from PP material, which is corrosion-resistant and offers a moderate cost.
Structure: Includes the tower body, spray system, packing layer, demister layer, and circulation system. The height is designed according to the treated air volume (typically 3–8 meters).
Packing material: Uses Pall rings or multi-faceted hollow spheres, offering a specific surface area of 200–300 m²/m³ to extend gas-liquid contact time.

    | Processing Principle
Acidic exhaust gas treatment: After the exhaust gas enters the tower, it comes into contact with a spray of alkaline solution (such as sodium hydroxide), triggering a neutralization reaction (e.g., HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H₂O). The resulting products are discharged along with the wastewater.
Cyanide Treatment: Hydrogen cyanide (HCN)-containing gas must be treated in two steps: first, oxidize it to cyanate using sodium hypochlorite, and then absorb any remaining residue with a sodium hydroxide solution.
Gas-liquid mass transfer: The packing layer significantly increases the contact area—expanding it by more than 100 times its original volume—while ensuring a contact time of at least 2 seconds, achieving a purification efficiency of 85% to 96%.

    | Applicable Scenarios
Suitable for industries such as electroplating (chromic acid mist, hydrochloric acid mist), chemical processing (acidic exhaust gases), pharmaceuticals, and more, this system can reduce pollutant concentrations to meet emission standards—for example, chromic acid mist ≤ 0.05 mg/m³.

    | Operations and Maintenance
The packing needs to be replaced regularly (approximately every 8 years), the circulating liquid pH must be maintained between 8 and 10, and anti-freezing measures should be implemented.
